I’m a fan of Tosca Reno. I appreciate that she lives a fit and healthy lifestyle, that she’s past 50 and looks amazing (because of her healthy lifestyle), and that she has a motivating presence that has inspired other people to improve their fitness and health.
So, naturally, I was eager to check out her new book, “Your Best Body Now: Look and Feel Fabulous at Any Age the Eat-Clean Way.”I have both of her cookbooks (“The Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook”and “Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Cookbook”), as well as “The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged.”While I won’t be adding the new book to my personal bookshelf, I do think it’s an excellent reference for the right person. In my opinion, the women who would benefit most from this book are 30+ and craving a serious lifestyle overhaul and image renewal. They need a serious dose of inspiration, and some good, solid, easy-to-understand guidance for improving their eating habits and getting into the habit of regular exercise.
Part one of the book, “The Road to a Fabulous New You–At Any Age,” details Tosca’s personal journey to health and fitness and provides more inspiration in the form of “real stories” and fabulous 40+ celebrities. It also includes useful information on building a support system.
Part two, “Get Your Best Body Now–For Life,” has chapters on diet, fitness, health and beauty, with specific tips for women in their 30s, 40s or 50s.
Part three, “Your Best Body Now Tool Kit,” starts with a chapter on how to build inspiration and motivation, followed by a recipe chapter and a journal chapter.
If I didn’t have some of Tosca’s other books and a huge stack of Oxygen magazine back issues (which includes her monthly columns) or was a beginner to exercise and healthy eating OR had taken a hard tumble off the healthy lifestyle wagon, I would be all over this book.
Since it’s a sad fact that I can’t buy every book I want, I previewed this one by checking it out at the library. You can always do the same. If it resonates with you, you won’t be content to just borrow it…you’ll be heading to your nearest (real or online) bookstore to get your own copy.
