Happy, healthy New Year!

I’m not totally on board with the idea of New Year’s resolutions, because I think that all too often, people bite off more than they can chew, setting overly ambitious goals that are difficult or impossible to achieve.

However, I do think the New Year can be a good time to refresh a commitment to a healthy life. The winter holidays are often a time of indulgence, even if we do practice some restraint and moderation.

If you feel like you need a healthy boost right about now, but aren’t sure where to start, Whole Living Magazine is sponsoring a 28-Day Whole Living Action Plan. You can read an overview of the plan here, or  preview each of the four weeks of the plan here.

The Action Plan website is nicely designed, with video tutorials, photos, quizzes, shopping lists, interactive tools. I don’t see how anyone could check it out and not be inspired to be healthier. You can simply follow the plan on the website, or sign up for daily Action Plan e-mails on the website’s main page.

I enjoy Whole Living Magazine (I’ve read it off and on since it’s early days, when it was called Body + Soul), and have an e-subscription currently. Their Action Plan is an encouraging, sensible plan for creating a healthier body and home environment. The 28-Day plan officially kicks off Monday, and there is some suggested preparation to do this weekend, so check it out ASAP if you are interested and want to start it on Monday.
