If you hear the term “obesity epidemic” enough times (which most of us have) you start to think that obesity is synonymous with poor health. But it’s not. Health is not determined by body weight.
There are lots of unhealthy people out there, and they come in all shapes and sizes. There are lots of healthy people out there, and they come in all shapes and sizes. The idea that obesity = disease doesn’t serve anyone, because it creates a false picture of true health.
