Greetings from RDville: Perpetual progress

Happy Monday! I felt like it was time for a new RDville post…mostly because I wanted to show this photo of my name on the door of the Northwest Natural Health clinic!

Our web guy finally put me on the website, too. Next step: business cards (they were waiting to order them until our new naturopathic physicians came on board, too).
Things are coming along slowly but surely. I’m getting more patients, mostly private pay. I’m starting to see more Regence BSBC patients, now that I’m credentialed with them. Still waiting on Premera, Aetna, Cigna, Lifewise, Group Health and United.

In the meantime, I don’t mind being able to work from home a day or two a week (if I don’t have patients). Especially since my home office has one thing my work office does not…a hard-working golden retriever. Exhibit A:

I’m taking a workshop on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and the FODMAPs diet from Patsy Catsos, MS, RDN, LD, author of IBS: Free at Last! later this week. I have experience guiding patients through the FODMAPs elimination diet, but I am excited to get some advanced training from a top expert.
On Friday, I’m going to the “graduation” ceremony for this year’s group of interns from UW. It’s hard to believe that this time one year ago, I was doing the “it’s the last week of my internship” happy dance (actually, it was more bittersweet). I’m looking forward to connecting with some of my peeps that I don’t get so see much now that we have been flung into different career directions.
If you are in the Seattle area, don’t forget that I have a free “Health, Wellness & Weight” class this Wednesday evening, and that there is one more week to register for my “Healthy For (Your) Life” six-week class series with the early-bird discount. Info in the sidebar, or on my website “Classes” page.
